I am a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified
Personal Trainer. I graduated from the College of St. Rose in 1999 with a bachelors degree in Medical Technology. During
that time I worked as a fitness instructor and personal trainer. I began my career in the medical field at Albany
Medical Center Hospital as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist and ended it 7 years later at the NYS Department of Health as
a Research Scientist. During that time I became a mother to a beautiful daughter and also struggled with chronic back
and hip pain due to problems occuring after childbirth. I wasn't able to exercise or do the activities I was able
to do before having my daughter. I went to many different types of doctors and none of them were
able to determine the cause of the pain. After struggling with chronic pain for 4 years I left my full
time job to stay home with my daughter and take the time to rehabilitate myself. After 5 attempts with
5 different physical therapists I finally found a PT who did something called MANUAL THERAPY (myofascial release) and
it worked! After a few months of 1x-2x/week of therapy the pain was much less and I was able to manage it without
medication. I was able to start exercising again and my body became stronger which further aided my recovery.
I felt so grateful to this physical therapist because she had given me my life back and all she did was use her hands
and her knowledge of the human body to do it. So many people struggle with chronic pain and many of them can be
helped using these hands-on techniques that few therapists are trained to employ. When the time came for
me to get back into the working world I wanted to do something more meaningful with my life. I found the Center for
Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy and began their program in February 2008 and graduated in April 2009. I wanted
to help others who were struggling with chronic pain and who were told that there was nothing that could be done to help them...well
there is help out there you just need to know where to look.
